OCA Greater Seattle sponsors Edwin M. Lee Memorial Golf Tournament
OCA-Greater Seattle are the fiscal sponsors for the 2nd Annual Edwin M. Lee Memorial Golf Tournament, to be held Saturday, June 25, at the Auburn Golf Course, 29630 Green River Rd. SE, Auburn, WA. Seattle native, the late Edwin Lee, became the first Asian American Mayor of San Francisco, serving from 2011-2017.
This year’s tournament will include a Special Tribute to Lee’s close childhood friend, the world-renowned jazz pianist, Deems Tsutakawa (1952-2021).
Organized by friends and family members of the late Edwin M. Lee, all proceeds generated will benefit the Edwin M. Lee Memorial Foundation Fund @ the Seattle Foundation. Since 2018, the fund provides scholarships to graduating Franklin High School seniors and supports local area non-profits that align with Lee’s legacy and commitment to social causes including combating hate crimes against Asian Americans.
Lee was an avid golfer and strong friend and supporter of public golf. His passion for golf intersected with his passion for community service. Throughout his adult life, he organized, sponsored, and participated in charitable golf tournaments.
